Jays BarbersRide Fundraiser

Win a years worth of haircuts!

Story

This year BarbersRide will be raising funds to grant wishes across the UK and Ireland!

BarbersRide Established in 2017

BarbersRide was started by a bunch of biking barbers and industry guys that wanted to combine their love of biking and barbering with a fundraising charity event.

We've raised over £110K for charity to date!

We ride again and this year we will be visiting the beautiful island of Ireland - 5-10 August!

Find out more here: www.barbersride.com

Make-A-Wish® UK & Ireland creates life-changing wishes that revive the childhood that critical illness takes away, bringing light and joy at the darkest of times for a child and their loved ones. But right now, there are 60,000 children in the UK living with a critical condition, and they don’t have the resources to be that light for everyone. Your generous support will help them step closer to achieving their vision: to grant a wish to every eligible child. Together, we have the power to light up the darkness.

.Family's History.

Our father Barry Keen was trained by his great great uncle Cuff

Cuffs Barbers Shop was in Arlesey

This was in the late 50s early 60s

Our father then left Cuffs to work in barbershops in Hitchin and Bedford

Barry opened his own shop in 1985 at the top of the Cross Keys in St Neots

In this shop he trained Jason his eldest son

then years later he trained Barry one of his twin boys

In 2012 our father past away

In 2015 Jason got the opportunity to open his own shop in Sandy

Where Danny

Jasons other brother came over to join the shop

shortly followed by Barry

Then they kidnaped Jamie

Dannys son to join the gang

.Old Red's History.

Why Old Red is called Old Red

The shop gets its name from the first skateboard ramp built in St Neots Riverside Park

Old Red was built in 1989 by parents of the local skateboarders

The ramp was made of metal and painted with red oxide paint to protect it from the elements

And over the years it got the nickname Old Red

It was taken down and replaced in 2006 with the skatepark that we have to this day
